In London

LONDON. Ont.- An all-male crew of 25 members under the direction of M. L. Vernon, cooked and served the unique annual caboose dinner put on by Lodge 415. Many years of cooking experience in the little red caboose went into preparation of the 160 pounds of turkey, 150 pounds of potatoes, and quantities of other tasty items served to the 300 retired and active railwaymen participating.

Members who retired this year, honored at the dinner and presented with gold watch chains and locket fobs bearing the BRT crest, were R. S. Nichol, Fred Lecky, Fred Titley, Tom Bennett, James Cresswell, Fred Barnett, and George Round, with service records ranging from 27 to 42 years.

Guests who spoke briefly included W. F. Koehn, general superintendent Canadian Pacific, Toronto; J. O. Johnson, superintendent London Division of the CPR; R. H. Morrison, general chairman of the CPR, Lines East; and Field Supervisor R. C. Snelgrove.

Visitors were also present from Lodges 47, St. Thomas; 240, London; 255 and 322, Toronto; 316 Windsor; and Division 16 of ORC, London.

Oldtimers C. E. Reid and C. L. Cline, 50-year veterans, were introduced to the assembly.
