Full Text

The State Fair.

Messrs. Atkinson & Cocke who have taken the lead in getting out the products of this end of the State for exhibition at the State Fair report that the farmers of Haywood county are furnishing some magnificent specimens of fruits, grasses, vegetables. We are glad to note the enterprise of our sister county but cannot stand by and see old Buncombe, whose products are second to those of no county, so slow in bringing forth her prize products.

Let every farmer, fruit grower and tobacco raiser select the finest from his crop and bring to Messrs. Atkinson & Cocke, who will see it forwarded to and properly exhibited at Raleigh.

We have before mentioned that two hundred northern editors will be there to write up the products of this State and we who have a soil, the most productive, must not lose this splendid opportunity of letting the world know how bounteously nature has endowed us.

If you have any fine apples, pears, late peaches or grapes, oats, corn, wheat, tobacco, beets, turnips, cabbages, onions or any other agricultural product that is fine send them; and tell your neighbors to do the same.
