FROM ABROAD
TO BE HONORED

Honoring students from abroad who are studying at the University of Washington, the Christian Friends for Racial Equality will give an international tea from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, in the University Temple, E. 43 and 15th Sts.

Approximately 288 students are on the University campus and they represent 34 countries, according to Mrs. Edith M. Steinmetz, president of the CFRE, which maintains its offices in 306 Maynard Building, First and Washington.

Dr. Cyrus A. Wright, associate minister of the University Temple, and Dean Newhouse, director of University students affairs, will receive together with the officers of the CFRE. Merle W. Mudd, counselor of foreign students, will assist at the entrance with Mrs. Malone, Miss Rudd, Mrs. Hartwich, and Dr. Groves.

Program artists will include Lucille Aastegard, soprano, Sadako Nakashima, pianist, Florentine Lamug, tenor; William Moy and Paul Reyitt, violinists; Yae Kimura, soprano; Joy Moore's string trio; Leon Israel, baritone, accompanied by Samuel Goldfarb, and Sunset Gospel Singers, Charles Moore, manager, and A.M.E. quartette, M. A. Fleming director. Marjorie L. Anderson is program chairman.

Those who are expected to preside at the urns are Mrs. William Devin, wife of the mayor, Mrs. Raymond B. Allen, wife of the president of the University of Washington; Martha E. Hardy, instructor-author; Mrs. C. F. Ristow, University Temple; Mrs. G. Edgar Vaughn, wife of the British consul; Mrs. William Y. Mimbu, wife of Seattle Nisei attorney; Mrs. Eliza McCabe, president of State Federation of Colored Women's Clubs; Mrs. K. M. Dominick, president of E. C. C., WCTU, and Mrs. Samuel Horowitz, Hillel Foundation.

Steering committee comprises Mrs. Inez Malone, Violet Rudd, Mrs. Madeleine Morehouse Brake, and Marita Johnson.

Mrs. E. F. Istas is University Temple's representative on the hospitality committee.

Hospitality committee members are Miss Fujino, Marion Gosho, Maida Ikeda, Naomi Inouye, Miss Ishida, Yaeko Ishimitsu, Miss Kanda, Masako Kikuchi, Miss Kinoshita, Mary Kondo, Miss Kumasaka, Chiye Kusakabe, Ruth Nakamura, Terrie Nakanishi, Lily Nakano, Betty Noji, Terrie Ogata, Janet Otoshi, Janet Sugitachi, Emiko Takenaga, Helene Tsutsumoto and Elsie Urakawa.
