The Legislature of Alabama have passed the bill loaning the State credit to the Memphis and Charleston Railroad Company to the amount of $300,000, which had been vetoed by Gov. Winston. The friends of the road are now very sanguine of completing it by the 1st of January 1857. The people of North Alabama were very much in the same condition that this portion of Arkansas is at present. The Muscle Shoals was to that country what the raft is to this region. When shall we see a great Railroad with its iron horse waking up the slumbering energies of our people?
