KILLS HUSBAND: MAY GO FREE.

Texas Woman Finds Spouse In Home of a Negress.

ABILENE, Tex., Oct. 6. Sixty persons, representing a wealth of $3,000,000, signed the bail bond here to-day for Mrs. Lucy Matheson, who yesterday shot and killed her husband at the home of Stella Ramsey, a negress. Bankers, merchants and rich cattlemen were among the signors, including her father, mother and grandfather.

Mrs. Matheson went to the Ramsey home yesterday, stepped upon the front porch and fired through a screened window six times. One bullet went through her husband's head as he lay in bed inside, killing him instantly.

The Grand Jury began an investigation of the killing to-day, but it is believed that any procedure will be merely formal and that there will be no trial.
