MRS. HAZELWOOD TO RETURN THIS WEEK
T. D. (Tex) Hazelwood, 28, of Miami Beach, Fla., being held on charges of murder and statutory carnal knowledge in the death of 12-year-old Gloria Hauser, his step-daughter, whose body was found beneath high bridge last Tuesday afternoon, was moved from Patton Memorial hospital to county jail this morning, where he is being held without bond pending a coroner's inquest into the death on Saturday. Hazelwood was accompanied to the jail by Sheriff W. E. Davis and Deputy Sheriff Walter Garren, after attending physicians had said this morning that his condition was such that he could be moved. He arrived at the jail at 11:30, apparently in a good humor, and was assigned to a private cell on the third floor of the jail. He had no comment to make, and his attorney, R. L. Whitmire, stated that no legal action was contemplated prior to the inquest on Saturday. Solicitor C. O. Ridings, of Forest City, was in Hendersonville yesterday. He visited the bridge, scene of the girl's death, and conferred with Coroner Bruce A. Cox and other officers. Following his investigation, Solicitor Ridings stated last night that after an examination of the facts in the case, he was "thoroughly convinced that it was a case for further examination, by a grand jury at least. I intend to go on through with it and want Hazelwood placed in jail without bond," he said. He sent word to Sheriff Davis of his wishes. Earlier in the day, Sheriff Davis was informed by attending physicians that they wished an additional 24 hours for (Continued on page four)

observation of Hazelwood. This morning they informed the sheriff that the man could be moved.
The removal of Hazelwood was about the only development in the case over the week-end. Hazelwood's father, P. J. Hazelwood, arrived here from Houston, Tex., on Sunday morning. He had no statement to make on his arrival.
Investigating officers are still awaiting a final report on autopsy specimens sent to Duke hospital, Durham, last week. A report from the hospital is not expected before tonight or Tuesday.
Mrs. Hazelwood and her brother, Henry G. Dollman, of Indianapolis, are expected here early this week, according to advices from the Indiana city. Indications from the Indiana city are that the wife will support her husband in his fight for freedom.
