In South Dakota this year Indians vote for the first time and enjoy the sensation of casting their ballots for the great father. A law passed by congress declares that when Indians take farms in severalty red males twenty-one and over shall be classed as American citizens.

Considerable political log rolling has been done among the Sissetons and Wahpetons of the Lake Traverse region, who took lands in severalty two years ago.
