Full Text

The report that the Governor of Delaware had refused to furnish his quota of men, agreeably to a requisition of the President, is contradicted in the Delaware Museum.

When the above report reached the pensioned editor of the New-York Evening Post, it was published in his paper with the word 'PATRIOTISM' prefixed to the paragraph. The refusal was made, he adds, 'with the true spirit of the ruler of a free people'—and if the military are to be called on to enforce obedience to the laws, enacted by the people, "the state of Delaware will not participate in the guilty execution".

If the editor is not a rank tory, then we know not the meaning of the word—and if he is not to be ranked among the "scoundrel printers," pensioned by his majesty, then is the "Federal Republican" edited by an association of honest lawyers.... Balt. L. Post.
