The resignation of his office as Governor of Pennsylvania by Mr Shunk, vacates all the offices held in that State during the pleasure of the Executive. Some of these are among the most important in the State, such as that of Secretary of State and Attorney General. Hon. Wm. F. Johnson, of Armstrong County, a staunch Whig and President of the Senate, becomes, in consequence of this resignation, the Constitutional Governor of Pennsylvania, and upon him will devolve the appointment of the successors to the late incumbents of these offices.—Boston Atlas.
