Full Text

BOSTON, February 12.

The Austrian particulars of the battle on the 3d of November are too long to be inserted: It appears that much art is made use of to colour their disgrace on that day; they own the loss of about 10 or 12,000 in killed, wounded and missing, and presume to guess the loss of the Prussians to be double that number. From many paragraphs it appears, that the consequence of this battle to the Prussians, is the recovery of Torgau, Leipsic, and the greatest part of Saxony: the retreat of all the Russians into Poland, and the delivery of Silesia from the insults of the enemy, besides the King of Prussia's being able to send a considerable reinforcement to Prince Ferdinand: These are plain indubitable proofs that the Prussian monarch was victorious at the battle of Torgau: and what is inserted in the Austrian papers to the contrary, is a considerable proof that the present situation of their affairs require such disguisings.
