Franklin's Arctic Expedition.

Sir John Richardson, and Doctor Rae arrived here on their journey overland to the Arctic regions in search of the lost expedition of Sir John Franklin who sailed from England in the year 1845, with a view of discovering a Northwest passage, and from whom nothing has been heard for more than two years. This long silence has created fears that Sir John and his one hundred and twenty five companions are blocked up in the ice or have perished either from cold or starvation, or perhaps the scurvy, that dreadful scourge to seamen.—Lake Superior News.
