NEW ZEALAND TROUBLES CONTINUE WITH RIOTS

AUKLAND, N. Z., April 16.—Flames were rising from two churches which have been set afire by mobsters who continued their rioting and looting of stores here.

The streets are practically littered with discarded loot and the plate glass windows of many stores have been broken.

The mob first began demonstrations Thursday but renewed their activities Friday with a result that blue-jackets had to again be rushed into the city. Territorial police also are now in the city and apparently have the situation under control.

Forty of the mob leaders have been arrested while at least 300 persons are in hospitals receiving treatment for their injuries.
