MEETS TODAY
PASADENA, Cal., Sept. 17. (U.P.) With several hundred delegates registered, the annual convention of the California State Federation of Labor opened here today with an address by President A. W. Hoch of Los Angeles.
Business sessions of the convention, which will continue all week, start tomorrow. Among the subjects scheduled for discussion are strikes, code difficulties and proposed legislation for protection of workers.
Officers will be elected Friday with Edward Vandeleur, President of the San Francisco Central Labor Council, favored to succeed Hoch, who will not seek reelection.
Separate conferences will be held by the California Theatrical Federation, the State Culinary Alliance, The California Bakers' Federation and the California Printing Trades.
A number of officials of the American Federation of Labor, which holds its convention in San Francisco in October, are expected here for the state meeting.
