All arrangements have been made for the consolidation of the Canal and the Loan and Exchange Banks of Columbia. The personnel of the officers of the consolidated bank is such as to inspire confidence in the soundness of the institution and the business principles which will characterize its transactions. E. W. Robertson is the President, A. C. Haskell, Vice President, and Gilbert Berry, Cashier.

Mr. Julius H. Walker, the former cashier of the Loan and Exchange, has been elected Vice President of Central National Bank, and this already strong institution will be made stronger by his connection with it.
