AMHERST, Mass. - (ANP)- Labeling racial discrimination as "an affront to individual dignity and worth" the Board of Trustees at the University of Massachusetts ordered discriminatory clauses in fraternity constitutions to be removed by Dec. 31, 1960.
The 1960 deadline came about because the complications in connection with the fraternities next two biennial national meetings.
President Paul Mather stated:
