KINGSTON, Jamaica - The first signs of impending crack-up in the Jamaica Labour Party machine of Alexin de Bustamant which has had a majority in the island's legislature are evident this week as Representative L C Bloomfield of Manchester resigned from the posts. The resignation came on the heels of a series of mishaps which soured Bustamante's prestige in the country, and led his actions as far from "master strokes" he would like his followers accept in question. Bustamante's stock had fallen during his recent trial for manslaughter growing out of the riot he led. His leadership in the legislature had gotten him into hot water, and he recently echoed the fair seeming actions of one of his henchmen Cleve Lowss. To bolster the prestige are the engineers' association in the Legislature proposed a dinner and presentation in his honor. Only one of the members of the legislature appeared and Bustamante promptly attacked the stay-at-homes as traitors. In addition to the crack-up his coup in the legislature Bustamante faces disintegration his industrial Trade Union now the stranglehold on the waterfront being broken.
