Full Text

Dresden, Jan. 16. On Friday last, the 14th Instant, at Two o'Clock in the Afternoon, his Prussian Majesty returned hither in good Health from Berlin. Several Thousand Wagons are making in the different Towns and Villages of Saxony, for carrying off the Prussian Magazines either into Bohemia or Silesia. Orders are given for augmenting each Company of the Regiment of Infantry with 43 Men; and the Cannoniers are busy in the Arsenal, in preparing Cartridges, &c. In short the Prussians are very industrious in preparing all Things necessary for the next Campaign, which in all Probability will be a very bloody one. Letters from Warsaw affirm, that there are great Commotions among the Poles, who seem not a little uneasy at the Intention of the Russians, to march through their Country: and it is reported here that the Polish Palace in Warsaw is already ordered to be barricadoed up. A Paper, signed by his Polish Majesty, has been published here, in which the Saxon Generals are accused of Cowardice and Disobedience for not attacking the Prussians when they left the Camp near Pirna; But, it is thought, if they had attempted it, the Prussians were so advantageously posted, that the Saxon Army would have been destroyed. The Saxon Generals seem greatly dissatisfied with so undeserved an Imputation, and think it a bad Return for the Hardships they suffered in their Camp.
