Martin Rodriguez, crowd pleasing Cuban featherweight and rugged Russel Tague of Davenport, Iowa, will clash in a 10-round return fight Tuesday night at the Miami Beach Auditorium.
In their first contest which produced lively action from the beginning to end, Tague won a hair-line decision but only because Rodriguez was penalized severely for punching low. Since the first meeting Tague has gone on to defeat Lulu Perez and Rudy Ortega. In four local starts Russ has lost only to Willie Pep. Rodriguez, a former ranking contender, owns a fine ring record and has scored victories over such fighters as Ike Chestnut, Lauro Salas and Baby Ortiz.
Promoter Chris Dundee said he hoped to match the winner of the bout with Willie Pep at the Auditorium within a couple of weeks.
Both youngsters are expected to arrive for training this weekend.
