Screw Lock
If you are getting tired of tightening a wood screw that persists in working loose, here is a hint that will come in handy. Where screws tend to loosen, especially in soft wood, a simple method of locking them is to drive a staple across the screw-head so that it rests in the screw slot. This will prevent its turning and working loose.

Stained Furniture
Unsightly white rings on highly polished furniture (from heat, etc.) will disappear if you'll apply some warm camphorated oil. Rub the furniture until it is dry, then polish with a clean, soft cloth.

Fresh Eggs
To keep eggs fresh for a fairly long time, rub the very fresh eggs with oil, butter, or pure glycerine, over the entire surface of the shell.
