Full Text

The United States has, we learn, accepted the cession of Castle-Island; which is immediately to be made a federal garrison. The convicts are not excepted;—and the Governor will confine them in the several jails.

The Federal Officers have it in charge not to enlist any men into the service of the United States, who within a certain period of time, have had the audacity to mount a French cockade.—A few worthless animals at the castle, are said to have been guilty of this crime.—We do not understand whether of the garrison, or convicts. If the latter, the badge was appropriate to their party-coloured clothes, and characters.
