Beware Of Walking Ga. Lynching Victim

SAVANNAH, Ga. (UNP)—"I'm very much alive and working," declared Charlie Williams of himself in clearing up a semi-annual report made by the Tuskegee Institute that he had been lynched by a group of white men at Woodcliffe, Georgia on March 11.

Williams was working in a fertilizer plant when found by Detective Serg. E. A. Fitzgerald. Williams said, "I heard I was lynched, but didn't pay any attention to it because I knew I was living."

M. M. Work, statistician at Tuskegee reported the Williams lynching was the only one listed against the state of Georgia so far this year.
