DARING OUTRAGE.

On Thursday evening last as Mr. Wm. Teel of Rhinebeck, was returning home fr. this village in a gig, he observed about one and a half miles this side of the Flatts, 3 horses standing by the road side. It being quite dark, he leaned forward as he passed the horses to see if he could discover any person with them. At that instant a gun was fired at him, the ball from which he distinctly heard whistle past his head He drove to the Flatts, and found on examination, that the ball had passed through the top of his carriage, in such a direction, as to leave little doubt, that it would have proved fatal, if he had been sitting up in his usual position. Mr. Teel had within about four hundred dollars, which he had got exchanged at the bank while here, for a gentleman in Rhinebeck It is presumed the perpetrators of this outrage must have known of his having the money, and designed to have robbed him.
