AERIAL TOUR OF MADISON COUNTY FARMS PLANNED FOR JULY 30TH
Plans are being completed for the Madison County farm aerial tour scheduled for July 30 at the Orleton Farms, Austin Harbage, Chairman of the committee announced today.
A group recently laid out the landing area for the plane at the Orleton Farms. The landing site has been approved by the Ohio Aviation Board.
Included in the group were: John Sawyer, Assistant Manager of the Orleton Farms; Neil Fauber and Dick Burwell of the Ohio Aviation Board; Austin Harbage, Chairman of the County Aerial Tour; and John Moore, County Agricultural Agent.
Representatives of the Ohio Aviation Board will meet all the morning of July 6, with a group of farmer leaders to take them on a tentative air tour. They will also take pictures of representative farms which those going on the regular air tour, July 30, may see before they go up.
The aerial tour, sponsored by the Madison Soil Conservation Supervisors, will be in conjunction with the County Plowing Match.
Trophies have been provided for the County Plowing match for first and second place.
To participate in the County Plowing Match plowmen should contact one of the Supervisors, the Soil Conservation Office, or the Madison County Extension Office. The Soil Supervisors for the County are: John H. Buehl, Jr., Chairman, James Miller, Delbert Crouse, Harold Friend and James Littler.
