College Bldg. Needs Placed At $5 Billion

Washington.—Colleges and universities have to double their existing facilities to meet increased enrollments, according to a survey prepared by the U. S. Office of Education.

The cost of such expansion is estimated at about $5,000,000,000, the report declared.

Work in progress amounts to only about one-fifth of the construction required to reduce overcrowding and to replace obsolescent buildings, it is reported. In this is included the used wartime buildings which have been allotted to educational institutions under federal aid plans.
