Chefoo, June 27 - The steamer Tungelow brings news from Taku up to five o'clock last evening that communication had been established with Admiral Seymour, nine miles from Tientsin.
The force has been hard pressed and much hampered with sick and wounded. Only a few of the allied troops were killed.
A force of 10,000 is rapidly pushing forward to Seymour's assistance. Seymour is besieged but heliographic communication has been established.
The British admiral sends an urgent appeal for relief. The foreign ministers are with him, all well.
The son of a Taku pilot managed to force his way through from the beleaguered town. He reports that the condition at Tientsin has been exaggerated.
There are few casualties amongst the foreigners and but very little damage to property.
