Liquor Still Starts Fire

Annie Mae Pringle, Quincy negro, has been placed under a $150 bond on the charge of making and selling intoxicating liquor, illegally. The charge was an outgrowth of a fire that practically destroyed her home on North Madison street at 5:30 Saturday morning. The miniature liquor still was discovered in the kitchen of the home when firemen were fighting the blaze. It was believed that operation of the still was the direct cause of the fire. Several gallons of liquor and miscellaneous equipment were confiscated by the sheriff.

The fire alarm was not turned in until the house was completely enveloped in flames but some furniture and the liquor evidence was saved.
