HENSON MADE DEFENDANT
IN SMALL DAMAGE SUIT

Chas. E. Henson, of Cottonwood creek, has been made the defendant in a damage suit in which V. C. Johnson of Billings is asking $300 damages as a result of an accident which befell his son recently in Billings. While in Billings a week ago Mr. Henson had the misfortune to run down Arlie Johnson, 13 year old son of the plaintiff in the suit, who was riding a bicycle down one of the Montana town's busy thoroughfares. Mr. Henson, although not to any great measure responsible for the accident, did all he could to care for the young man, taking him to a hospital and seeing that he received every care, and putting his bicycle in good repair once more, but notwithstanding all this, and the fact that Dr. J. H. Bridenbaugh, the attending physician, states that the young man has not suffered any serious or permanent injuries, the parent feels that his feelings should be appeased to the extent of $300, and has entered a suit in the courts of Montana.

As Mr. Henson tells of the accident, he was turning one of the busy corners with his auto, when he came upon two young men riding bicycles. The Johnson boy was eating an ice cream cone and was not paying much attention to traffic when Mr. Henson made the turn around the corner toward him. His companion proceeded across the street ahead of the Henson car, while the Johnson boy became confused and turned away from the car, directly in its course, with the result that the boy was spilled and the bicycle slightly wrecked.

Mr. Henson has paid all the doctor's bills and repaired the wheel and feels that he has done all that could reasonably be asked of him to adjust an accident in which he was only partially to blame.
