Lancaster, (Ohio,) Nov. 1.

Quick Work with a Horse Thief.— On Sunday night, the 21st ult. a horse belonging to a traveller, was stolen out of the stable of William Trimble, Esq. Innkeeper near Lancaster.—The next day pursuit was made after the thief, and on the following Wednesday he was overtaken near St. Clairsville, and brought back with the horse. The court of common pleas for this county being in session, he was tried next day, and having pled guilty, he was sentenced to three years imprisonment in the penitentiary, at hard labor. He goes by the name of Mitchell, is not yet 20 years of age, and says his father lives near Beaver, Pa.
