Stephen C. Ustick is appointed Post Master of Harrington, in the place of Thompson Neal, esq. turned out.
The persecuting spirit of the Post master General is so often manifested in his removals from office, that it now ceases to excite surprise, though exercised in the most unwarrantable and unjustifiable manner. The removal of Mr. Neal is an instance, we believe, of special abuse of power, and therefore highly relished by the talkers about republicanism and liberty. Our democratic rulers too construe the liberty of Americans to mean the liberty of being punished for a conscientious exercise of their rights and privileges. Their placemen and pensioners stand ready to applaud every measure brought forward on these tyrannical principles—for it is the price of their bread.
