Tennessee. The Tennessee Whig Convention assembled at Nashville on the 20th ult. The Banner says that in point of numbers, position, influence, and character, it has not been surpassed by any similar body on any previous occasion. Hon. L. M. Bramlette presided. A Committee representing all the Congressional Districts was appointed to nominate a candidate for Governor. Letters were read from Major Henry and Gen. Neill S. Brown, declaring their determination not to be candidates. The Committee then retired and in a short time reported a resolution unanimously nominating as the Whig Candidate for Governor, Hon. EPHRAIM H. FOSTER, of Davidson County. This report was unanimously and by acclamation adopted by the Convention. Mr. Foster accepted the nomination and subsequently addressed the Convention with great ability and eloquence.
