JACOBIN CONSISTENCY.--After labouring through more than two pages of yesterday's paper, I cast my eye on a piece written by somebody who has had the effrontery to assert that the toast given by a Federalist who was present at the Kennebunk Caucus, was received with politeness; and that it was a wanton misrepresentation that it was either hissed by the company or that the company called for the Rogue's March --Not so quite so fast, good sir: A certain gentleman who is strongly attached to the pretended Republican cause, and who was present at the Jubilee, has given you the LIE by asserting that the Federal gentleman's toast was hissed, and that the Rogue's March was called for by the company; and this too after he had read your statement.--But this is nothing strange or new with the fact.
"Plain truth has told the truth so plain,
The Federalists begin to fear;
It fills their hearts with constant pain,
Since they plain truth so often hear."

Main Argument
the newspaper's claim that a federalist's toast at the kennebunk caucus was received politely is false; it was hissed, and the rogue's march was called for, as confirmed by a republican witness, highlighting jacobin inconsistency.
