Full Text

New County.—Notice has been given in the Assembly that a bill will be introduced for the formation of a new county out of portions of Sacramento, El Dorado and Placer. Folsom is to be the county seat. The new county advocates will bear in mind that Placer has a large debt to pay off, and if they take a slice of our territory they will come in for a share of this indebtedness. The same can be said of El Dorado and Sacramento. It becomes important to the people of the proposed new county to know how much of a debt they will, from this cause, start out with.

So far as taking any part of Placer for this new project, we dissent entirely. Will our Representatives put a veto on the measure.
