Full Text

London, Jan. 8. There being mention in all the Foreign Gazettes of an Armament making at Brest, to carry Troops to the Mississippi to be employed against the Indian Nation called Chickasaws, it may be of some Satisfaction to the Publick to know, that these Chickasaws are the only Nation of free Indians unsubdued by the French, between their Southern Settlements upon the Mississippi and their Northern ones in Canada; that the French have twice attacked them this last Spring, and have been often repuls'd with considerable Loss; and they being an independent Nation, and in Amity with the neighbouring English Colonies, it is not to be wonder'd that the French intend to attack them with a greater Force.
