Dishing It Out
Keesler Field men have courage!
They have proved that in the past few weeks by the eagerness with which they have applied and qualified for training as aerial gunners. Impatiently they have sweated out physical examinations, lines and gleefully started for the training which prepares them for a job they know is dangerous but so vital to the United Nations' victorious war effort.
It must have been with envy that these men have read of the exploits of the aerial gunners who participated in the epic raid on Tokyo, those men who had a grandstand seat at the bombing of the populous Japanese cities. Surely they must have longed to have been there to shoot down the few evidences of feeble opposition sent up by the Japanese defenders.
BUT THAT RAID ON TOKYO WASN'T THE LAST AND A SECOND FRONT IS NEARLY READY TO OPEN.
Keesler Field men realize these things, too, and they don't want to be among the envious when the next list of gunner heroes is published.
And when the fireworks really start, there will be Keesler Field men up in the clouds with other gunners, knocking the Axis planes out of the skies, one by one.
