Owens Hedges On
Re-Signing With 49ers;
More Loot Sought

San Francisco (ANP) - R. C. Owens, spectacular pass catcher of the San Francisco 49ers, is reported to be dickering with 49ers officials on demands for a salary increase before signing a 1962 football contract with the westcoast team.

Owens, now a free agent with the right to sign with any team that will meet his financial demands, declared he would like to remain with the 49ers but that he is definitely interested in more money. The 49ers gave Owens his start in pro football five years ago.

"The only thing that separates me from the 49ers is money." R. C. said, adding, "I'm going to talk to Vic Morabito (the team's president) within the next week or so."

"If we can agree to terms, then I'll be back next year. If we can't, I'll sign some place else."

Owens has pulled several games out of the fire for the 49ers with his celebrated circus catches.
