Full Text

Farmers are to have a big meeting at Springfield, Mo., to arrange a plan to hold wheat for higher prices. The secretary of the Farmers' Union explains the process: "In the south the farmers are better organized than here and they are able to get better prices for their cotton. The organization agrees upon a minimum price and any farmer or cotton grower who must market his crop before the price gets up to the minimum for which they will sell is given the minimum price by the organization backed by members who have money enough to make him the loan.

When the price goes up this member is given interest on his money and the benefit of any advanced price goes to the organization. So far the price has always gone up so no money was lost. It is to work out this plan or a better one that the Springfield meeting is called."
