Last Evening's Mail.
BALTIMORE, October 13.
The following extract of a letter from a respectable gentleman in New-York, to another in this city, was written after the mail of Saturday had been closed, and contains the latest advice we believe in town.
"I have now to inform you, that Lord Lauderdale had returned to London, without effecting the object of his mission. I have no time to add."
It is not stated in the letter, probably from the haste of the writer, by what arrival this intelligence was brought—but we think he would not have hazarded a repetition of it on slight grounds.
