Full Text

The Herald listened with great pleasure to the clear and manly statement made to the voters last Tuesday by Mr. Gane, relative to his position about starting the shirt factory. That he made a good impression and favorable showing was strongly manifest by the unanimous adoption of a resolution granting a few months extension of time. We trust now we shall hear no more growling and grumbling on this subject. The factory will be opened in due season and prove a benefit to the town. More than one place has offered Mr. Gane better terms to secure the factory than has Brighton, but he gave his native town the preference and we are glad that the voters with such unanimity showed their appreciation of such preference.
