Last Friday a large Catalan bark anchored in this road, the Captain of which reports that being arrived at Genoa with a cargo of wine, he was made to unload it immediately, and, by order of the Government, 500 soldiers, with necessary provisions, were put on board his vessel.
with which he sailed to Capraia; that being arrived at that part of the island where he was to land the people, he was hindered from so doing by a vigorous opposition of the Corsican troops, and that at last he was obliged to sail to this road, where he still remains, together with two Genoese armed feluccas.
March 11. According to the last advices from Corsica, Paoli has a body of troops in readiness to embark for Capraia, in case Pinelli, the Genoese commander, shall be able to effect a landing of the re-enforcement sent out by the Republic.
