COLORED DESPERADOES.--Just before the steamer Pilot Boy reached her landing at Mathias' Point, on her way up the river yesterday, a colored man was arrested there and sent to jail at King George Court House. He was recognized as one, and probably the leader, of a gang of eight who had left a fishing shore in Mattox Creek, some days before on a march, along the shore of the river, to this city, robbing and plundering as they proceeded, and assaulting all who came in their way. From one gentleman, a Mr. Washington, whom they met hunting, they took the gun he was using, and made him deliver all the money he had, threatening to blow his brains out if he refused to comply with their demands. The country behind them was soon raised, and a mounted squad that set off on their trail overtook and scattered them, and succeeded in capturing and lodging in the jail at King George Court House all but one, and he, as above stated, was arrested at Mathias' Point yesterday, where he had gone to take the steamboat.
