The vigilant and intelligent caterers for the Oracle are so unfortunate as to have their casual omissions attributed to design—Some time since they published an account of the detention of the ships Mars & Magnet by the Danes—& availed themselves of the occasion to rail at us because we had not published it first—Nothing but French influence could so long delay the publicity of accounts of Danish depredations—Since then, the Mars has been released—but the Oracle folks say nothing about it.—Now some wickedly insinuate that the accounts of the release of vessels on the continent, and the detention of them by our dear friends and protectors the British, are designedly omitted— No—no—that cannot be—We will bet a biscuit against the best beaver which has sifted pegs by the unexpected result of the election, that it is their intention to give fair and impartial statements of every fact coming to their knowledge, whether France or England be implicated.
Among the American vessels detained at Copenhagen, we observe the following:
Mars, Balch, of Portsmouth, cleared, to sail Aug. 5; Magnet, Swett, do. waiting sentence; Lydia, Crabtree, Portland do; Columbia, Sullivan, Kennebunk, do.
