John Jacksha spent Thursday in the city from Tower on business.
John Lofgren spent Sunday in Tower on a visit with his family.
Miss Doris Knutson returned Monday from a visit with friends in Duluth.
Jos. Smuk spent a few days in Aurora this week, going down Tuesday.
Deputy Sheriff Oppel was in the city from Duluth a few days this week on business.
Victor Gustafson returned to Sparta Tuesday after a visit of a few days in this city.
Miss Cora LaBeau is visiting friends and relatives in Virginia and Eveleth this week.

Oscar Skogland returned to Sparta Monday afternoon after a visit of a few days in this city with his parents.
A. E. Pfremmer, of Hibbing, candidate for Judge of Probate was in the city Thursday sizing up the political situation.
Mrs. P. Sletten departed Monday morning for Rochester, Minn. She was accompanied on the trip by her son, Walter.
Will A. Griffin, of the Iron Range Steam Laundry spent Wednesday and Thursday in Tower soliciting business.
Miss Mabel Sletten arrived in the city Friday from Chetek, Wis. and will spend some time here on a visit with friends and relatives.
Grant McMahan spent several days in Duluth last week in attendance of the county board. He returned home Saturday.
Ed. Chalk, representing the Tom Reed Cigar Co., of Duluth, spent Tuesday and Wednesday in the city interviewing his customers.
Gust Sexton, who has been dangerously ill at the Shipman hospital for some time, was taken to his home Friday, very much improved.

The dance given by the young people of Winton Saturday evening was a pleasant affair and enjoyed by all. Several couples from this city attended. Kleemola's orchestra furnished the music.
Miss "Jo" Van Blarcom of this city was successful in capturing the seventh prize in the Duluth News-Tribune contest which closed Saturday evening. The prize is a beautiful set of mahogany furniture.
The Ladies of the Presbyterian church will give a lawn social on the Thos. McLaughlin lawn next Thursday afternoon and evening. Ice cream, cake and sandwiches will be served and everybody is invited to attend.
Harry Spooner returned Monday evening from Hibbing where he attended the Democratic County Convention. He also spent several days in Eveleth and Virginia visiting friends and relatives.
Mrs. I. Grabowsky of Detroit, Mich., is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Grabowsky. Mr. Grabowsky is also being visited by his brother, Jesse, who is spending his summer vacation here before resuming his work at the University of Michigan.

At a meeting held Wednesday by the members of the Presbyterian church, the following officers were elected to serve on the board: P. W. Jacobson, president; Mrs. Geo. Holmes, vice president; Mrs. Jock Brown, treasurer; Mrs. W. D. Gallagher, secretary.
