Atlanta Braves To Tackle All-Stars At Yankee Field

Atlanta baseball fans are expected to turn out in large numbers Sunday afternoon to see the Atlanta Braves, Georgia-Alabama Baseball League champions, go against the League Stars, at Yankee Field, in Rockdale Park. The action begins at 2:30 P. M.

The Braves, who have won the loop pennant race three years in succession, will have their hands full when they face the stars from the city teams of the Georgia-Alabama loop, namely the Atlanta Yankees, Rockdale Rawhides and Atlanta Paper Company Lions.

Now that the tight battle for the loop pennant is over, the Braves would like nothing better than to take the All-Stars in camp Sunday.

ALL-STARS WILL BE NO PUSHOVER

The All-Stars will be no push-over and nobody knows this better than Managers Othello Renfroe, Early King and Coach Maceo Wright.

Probable starters for the All-Stars include Roberts, Don Clendenon, Wesley Swanson, Mack Jones, "Mitch" Bell, Charles Dooley, George Banks, and Jerry Adams.

The hurlers include: Dave Dooley, Davis, Charlie Davis and Washburn. Then there will be Matthews, and W. Banks, along with Managers Hubert Wade, Charlie Davis and Coaches Nish Williams, and Thomas Washington.

In the pre-game ceremonies, President-Commissioner B. T. Harvey will present the Atlanta Braves the championship trophy.

Spearheading the Braves' attack will be: Walter Stubbs, team captain and infield anchor; Marion "Flash" Weathers, A. B. Hall, "Billy" Leggett, Lloyd Ramsey, Lloyd Morgan, "Tub" Carter, Tommy Jackson, Dan Henderson, McDuffie, "Bulldog" Howard, J. C. Byrd, "Long" John McFarland, Gene Young, Walt Henderson and "Duke" Strozier.
