Cardinal Spellman To Spend Sunday In Anchorage Enroute To The Far East

SEATTLE, (AP)--Francis Cardinal Spellman, Catholic Archbishop of New York, was scheduled to stop briefly at Seattle-Tacoma Airport Friday evening on his annual trip to the Far East for Christmas.

The Cardinal will spend Saturday and Sunday at Anchorage. He will continue his flight Monday morning arriving in Tokyo Tuesday afternoon after "losing" a day at the International Date Line.

"It's a place I would rather be than any other place in the world at Christmas," the Catholic prelate commented as he boarded a Northwest airliner at New York enroute to Korea.

Cardinal Spellman took with him a half million cigarettes, 25,000 religious medals, 25,000 holy pictures, four moving picture prints of Notre Dame football highlights and two prints of a "Dragnet" television program which has a Christmas theme.
