Washington, Oct. 29.- The American and British Claims Commission to-day, disallowed the following claims, which have been submitted on their merits.
J. W. McDonald against the United States.
McDonald claimed $250 for alleged wanton destruction of his property, in West Virginia, by Union soldiers. There were depositions to show that his property was not destroyed or injured, but that he was removed for military reasons outside the military lines.
John Preston Rogers against the United States.
He claimed $13,000 for rent of his stores in Memphis, damages by reason of removal of goods, breakage and loss, and interruption of his business.
According to the brief of Mr. Hale, agent and counsel for the United States, the claim was without foundation, utterly fraudulent, and sought to be sustained by perjury.
Thomas McMahon against the United States.
The claim was for over $60,000 worth of property, destroyed by the bombardment of Fort Pickens.
Jacob T. Moore vs. the United States. Claim for $900, for five mules.
