Will you state in the agricultural department of the News what is the best proportion of cotton seed meal and the hulls for feeding to cattle.

In mixing feed for cattle it is well to mix the meal of the cotton seed with corn meal and wheat bran and give them the hulls separately as so much "fodder." If cattle really enjoy the hulls, a half bushel apiece in the morning and the same at night will not be too much; in fact, cows are not apt to eat too much of the hulls. Some cattle may not take to the hulls at first. If this is the case moisten them thoroughly and stir a little meal and wheat bran into them with a little salt and they will soon learn to like the hulls.
A daily ration for cattle is made as follows: Cotton seed meal, 3 quarts; corn meal, 4 quarts; wheat bran, 5 quarts. This is a milch cow ration, one-half to be fed in the morning and one-half in the evening in addition to a half bushel of hulls twice a day.
