Full Text
The remarks of the Paris editor on the Message of the President are rather contemptuous; but it is well to hear what our enemies, as well as our friends, say of us: perhaps truth lies between. The French Editor is too severe, while those of England are too adulatory. The very circumstance of a President's Message being praised by the Ministerial writers in Great Britain should induce a strict re-examination. "Entangling alliances with none," was a maxim of that President; whose wisdom and whose principles entitled all his opinions to profound respect.—Dem. press.
