The Montana supreme court disbarred Jess H. Stevens, Great Falls attorney and candidate for railroad commission in July primary.

Stevens accused by the Mahon Oil Company with failure to account for $91,004.24, alleged to have been received by him as its attorney in payment of a judgment against the Adams company, and $124 received from the same company in settlement of another claim.

Mr. Stevens filed an answer in which, the court says, he "did not deny the allegations of the petition nor did he set forth any matter excusing the delinquencies with which he was charged."

Neither, says the court, did he appear, either in person or by counsel, at the hearing before the court's referee in Great Falls.
