Thursday a notable Cause was tried, upon an Action brought by the Company of Poulterers against a Poulterer at Kennington, upon the Stat. 5. Eliz. for exercising the Trade, not having served seven Years Apprenticeship; and after a Trial of near three Hours, neither the Court nor Jury could find it at all necessary to be obliged to serve seven Years to learn the Mystery or Skill of plucking a Goose, or skinning a Rabbit, so that the Jury gave a Verdict for the Defendant; and now it will be the Defendant's Turn to pluck the Company for his Costs.
