Grandson At Parris Island

PARRIS ISLAND—The grandson of a former Commandant of the Marine Corps is now undergoing "boot" training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot here. Private George V. Vest, whose grandfather Major General Wendell C. Neville was commandant in 1929-30, enlisted at Boston June 3rd. Vest, who was graduated from Brown University earlier this year, comes from a line of military men. His father, John P. W. Vest, is a captain in the Navy and George's older brother is a lieutenant in the Marines.
